Why is this so important to me?
Donating to Maine nonprofits through art has always been a dream of mine!
Random fact - in high school, I started a nonprofit in memory of my brother, Paul, who passed away from cancer. It started as a school project, but I obviously wanted to make it a reality.
The foundation supported families in Maine who had children with long-term or life-threatening illnesses who needed assistance covering costs associated with treatment not covered by health insurance.
Then entered college - a move to NYC - throw in a recession - and unfortunately, we had to make the hard decision to close the foundation. When we closed our doors, we disbursed the remaining funds to other nonprofits in the state.
That is why, from the very start of opening New Meadow Designs, I started creating mini artworks, whose sales would directly benefit nonprofits. Because I know firsthand how hard it is for nonprofits to keep the doors open and continue helping those in need.
Fast-forward to this year, and I really want to ramp up fundraising through my business. I think an art mail club is the perfect way to share art and support more nonprofits in Maine!
